Secretary Report - Maureen
A letter received on behalf of the Indigenous Health Scholarship. An introduction to our new scholar, as our previous scholar, Shondell, graduated at the end of 2024. Luke Anthony White originally from QLD and now living in Meadow Springs. He is enrolled in his second year at UWA and his hoping to finish in 2027.
Treasurer Report - Betty
A report on Liebherr -In the past quarter we have made over $6,000 from this project, the plan is to carry on for another quarter, and then we will revisit again. Betty is sending out a revised roster this week hopefully accommodating availabilities.
Markets - Bill
The markets were held on the 29 March.
We were down stall holders and not many customers this weekend. BBQ'ers were short on people as a few called in sick but special thanks to those who made it happen regardless.
It was a hot one, which may have contributed to why there were reduced numbers / stalls and bbq sales. A Highlight was from Penny Wong from the Labour Party 'its great to see a community market like this'.
One more night market and then back to Sunday Morning markets.
Men's Mental Health - Jack
Men's Mental Health is coming up on November 19th - looking for suggestions for what we can do to raise awareness - discuss at the project
Showcase - small number of Rotary Stalls at the showcase, but quality was there.
Smaller numbers then expected, but gave it a homely feel. - approx. 170 - 200 people attended.
Two Trucks at the Glam up your truck - Which we will be using the trucks as a marketing tool at our monthly markets.
Next conference is in Northam early March - Date TBA
RYLA - Jack
Jack was approached late last year asking if he was interested the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) at first he was hesitant and unsure if it was the right move. With some encourgment and an interview process he was accepted and was off on a week.
Upon arrival he learnt that there would be no phones for a week which meant no Zoe (his partner) after some talking with the facilitators he was a allowed a short conversation with Zoe each night.
While he is unable to tell us of the activities that he participated in, he gave everything a go, and enjoyed most of the activities that were offered.
Jack Learnt some things about himself, Loyalty and Bravery and some self confidence. He was challenged, but proud of himself for sticking it out.
What did you think RYLA was going to be?
I didn't think it was going to be intense as it was going to be. There were some activities that he thought was going to happen, but the more intense activities.

Would you recommend it to other?
Yes i have a list on my phone of people that I would like to nominate in the future - which is good because as a club we can find it difficult to people to nominate.

Internet Safety - Cheriley
Cheriley wanted to raised awareness for a internet safety concern, for anyone with children in their life to be aware of.
Roblox which is an online gaming platform that has a Chat room functionality. The concern has come from seeing a chat that her son was a part of, which had 'grooming' type language in it. The game which can be secure and private that they can talk to their school friend, however like anything on the internet there can be predators, please be mindful.

The Church has donated some empty doorstops to the club, Sue has taken to hold onto as we come up with idea
Bottle Tops
Just a reminder, Durham Road School is currently at capacity for their bottle tops Recycling project due to the school break. Please consider dropping at EnviroHouse in Bayswater, who will clean, sort and pass along when DRS is back up and running.
With about 47 cards and a kitty of around $400, Jack selected Maureen's ticket unfortunately it was the Two of Spades.

Closure
Allan thanked all those members who attended tonight, next week there will be no meeting due to the Albany Trip, the week after there will be a guest speaker (TBA) and it is a partners night.
