Past District Governor Phillip Skelton past way on the 3rd of April 2025
Phillip joined Perth Rotary in 2002 and was District Governor of District 9455 in 2012-13. He joined Armadale Rotary in 2012 and was a board member of Armadale Rotary in District 9465. He continued to be a member of the Armadale club in D9423. Among other things, he was a passionate advocate and long-time member of the Aboriginal Reference Group.

Swan Rotary will be donating $1000 to the DG's disaster fund to support flood victims in western Queensland.
Following record-breaking rainfall, western Queensland is being inundated by the worst floods to hit the region in fifty years, with more rain forecast for the next few days.
Hundreds of residents have been forced to evacuate, thousands of homes are at risk and farmers are losing substantial amounts of stock, significantly impacting their families and livelihoods.
The full scale of this situation is still unfolding, but it is expected to be severe.
Districts 9620 and 9560 are working together to support impacted communities. They have already appointed a disaster coordinator, conducted an initial needs assessment, and contacted state and local government authorities to collaborate. Addressing mental health issues will likely become a key focus of their efforts following the disaster.
How you can help
There are two ways you can support these efforts and be sure that the funds will help directly:

Every Daughter Matters - Darren Reynolds
Back in 2006, Darren met an eight-year-old Cambodian girl who had been rescued from abuse and exploitation. His own daughter was eight years old at the time and the personal impact led him to leave an eighteen-year career in audio production to pursue justice and freedom for the most vulnerable on our planet. This passion has led Darren to join the awesome team at EDM to actively interrupt the trafficking of young women and children in Nepal and prevent them falling into the hands of those who would harm them.
Every Daughter Matters is an organisation which operates in Nepal, on the India/Nepalese boarder, their focus on preventing human trafficking.
Darren shared many stories of his involvement with the Every Daughter Matters and his past working with World Vision, in Nepal and Cambodia.
The girls who are trafficked are used in Brothels, for Labour, Street Begging, or Organ Harvesting.
The Every Daughter Matters team work with the ASSN (Aashish Social Services Nepal) to prevent incidents of Human Trafficking, taking them to India. This involves ASSN watching cars for suspicious activity and then stopping them, they are supported by the police, however the police in the area are more often looking for contraband and weapons, not people.
The girls are coming from incredibly vulnerable places, and human trafficking is a part of larger poverty issue. Approximately 20,000 Nepalis go missing across the border every single year and 1.5 million Nepalis are at risk of human trafficking. Approximately 38% of the population in Nepal live on or below the poverty line.
Every Daughter Matters has 13 boarder crossing locations, which play a crucial role in preventing human trafficking.

In 2024, Every Daughter Matters rescued 1701 people who would have been trafficked.
All cases are referred to the police. Their work is helping to impact the traffickers business model.
