Fundraising Research
Thanks to John for his initiative, he has printed out some ways that other Rotary clubs raise funds and offer fellowship to their community. An idea that stemmed from this research was, instead of a gold tournament, perhaps we could look at running a mini-gold tournament. We will discuss this further at an upcoming meeting.
Community Garden -
Slabs - We are on the look out for a few larger style paving blocks or slabs, so that we can pave a pathway at our community garden site, and not have to walk through the sand as much.
The garden is coming along nicely, with the seeds that have been planted recently sprouting, the peas and carrots are also looking healthy.
Liebherr - Betty
10 Lunches done to date, it is a a huge money raiser, over $9,000.
There are a few people in the club to be inducted into working at the Liebherr BBQ, which will hopefully allow for some flexibility in the rostering.
The board has agreed to continue for a further 3 months.
Budget - Fred
Betty will be sending out the draft budget for the upcoming rotary year, this week. Please review and make suggestions ASAP so that we can adjust.
Allan - Jade Lewis
Jade has put a request to the club for financial assistance with her upcoming trip to the World Congress on Justice with Children. The club has agreed to support her, donating $500 to help with travel costs.
