Welcome to Members, May is Youth Services Month.
Editors Note - A special youthful present had been left at everyone's seat this week - A pen with a figurine on top, it is potentially a symbolic representation of your inner child. Graham had received a Pink Flamingo, where as David C (who moved seats) originally was a bunny but instead found a Blue Dinosaur - Dinosaurs being a special interest of his.

Secretary reports
No Mail in the Post Box - David C (The stand-in Secretary's stand-in) was very happy to return the PO Box Key after checking for mail.
Treasurer Reports
We are in budget preparation time for the 26/27 Rotary Year. It will be presented at the upcoming Board Meeting - Which will include our incoming Board Members - on the 11th of May.
And then further discussed at the members night after the Board Meeting
Updates
Lift The Lid Walk –
Details of this have been given to some of our local community contacts - SJOG, Leibherr, and Indigo Junction.
Event booking is managed by Rotary Club of Maylands, and event will be run in conjunction with Maylands Rotary, Belmont Rotary and Swan Rotary.
Swan Rotary Changeover –
12 June 2026, Bassendean Hotel, in the Swan Room. The venue has the capacity to host 40 – 50 people.
Graham and Sue will be visiting the Bassendean Hotel to discuss requirements and finalise arrangements.
Details will come out soon!
Fellowship Weekend –
Our next fellowship get away will be in Geraldton, at the Belair Caravan Park, being orgaised by President Graham.
17 – 21 September
Location will offer a range of social and sightseeing activities.
Directors Report
Rachel will be compiling the Swan Rotary Annual Report in Preparation for the Changeover. Directors please prepare a report and forward to Rachel.

A joint meeting with the current board and incoming board will be held the 11th May 2026.

Betty will be sending out an email soon to arrange a roster for the next quarter, with a number of our members away it will be important to lock this down soon!
Community
Midvale Primary
Earlier in the year we had the MCS from Midvale Primary attend a meeting, she mentioned that they have some raised garden beds in the school that are looking for assistance to get back up and running.
Discussions around is this a project that we can offer manpower to assist with, either in the form of a busy bee, having Rotarians attend the school to work with the students.
. We are looking for someone to champion this project and coordinate with the school on behalf of Swan Rotary to figure out what is required
Indigo Junction.
Graham and Fred met with people from Indigo Junction to formalise the details of project that we will be working with them on.
Discussions were also around what Indigo Junction can assist Swan Rotary with.
Youth
NYSF
National Youth Science Forum applications are open.
Ninder has been in touch with many schools in the area with information about this on the look our for an applicant to sponsor.
Markets
The next market is Bassendean, scheduled for 31 May, running 9:00am-1:00pm.
Volunteers will be needed for barbecues and market support.
Market Stall
Table coverings for the Rotary Handmade Craft Stall have been purchased.
Club Survey
A club survey has been prepared and distributed by Sue, please complete and return.
This is an anonymous survey to gain feedback and direction of the club for the upcoming Rotary year.
